Vacationing with Children in Mendocino
Children of all ages are very welcome at the Elk Guest House. One of the first sights often seen when pullings in is Gigi, the 30 year old Morgan mare, she sets the pace for friendliness. Another favorite with children of all ages, is the 100' swing, it's huge arc creates a wonderful feeling that reminds one of Maxfield Parrish.
If your stay includes a Saturday, you and your child are invited to attend "Saturday Science". Jon Green presents a Minds On Learning approach that captures the interest of young in body and mind. If you call in advance we will try to arrange for one of his custom made books, which covers the session's topics, imprinted with your child's name .
Kite flying is a timeless sucess with children of all ages. While you may be lucky enough to find a kite on the grounds, our chilldren's kite longevity is brief due to strong winds, cliffs and trees. If you can not locate a kite before arriving they are sold locally at every market. In Spendocino you have your choice of high performance kites. With the least luck you will make memories that will last a life time as your child's heart soars aloft along side their kite on the steady onshore breezes.
Both cottages have pianos for the musically minded, and DVD players, CD players, and free Wireless Internet for those more technologically focused.
