Elk Guest House is ideally suited for coastal weddings, with the nearest neighbor over a half mile in either direction, the ocean the surf sounds mutes the sounds of even the largest column speakers. With over sixty acres there is ample celebration as well as on site parking for hundreds of cars. The on site accomodations allow those responsible for coordianting the celerabation to get an early start and not have to drive anywhere when their day finally ends.
Weddings as small as fifteen have taken place on the beach and weddings in excess of several hundred have enjoyed the extraordinary views from the headlands, perched 200' above the surf.
Weddings at Elk Guest House started out as the obvious choice for several of our friends. Often those who have come to visit have decided to formalize and celebrate their committment. We have progressed from hosting our friends and then prior guests wedding celebrations to offering the unique accomodations of the Elk Guest House to others. Obviously, a visit is the best way to make sure this the 'Right' place for you affair.
Weddings are as individual as the participants. One group arranged for three bands, another made their own music. Some bring there food in refrigerator trucks others chose catering. We have come to appreciate is the incredible amount of details in decorations, seating, food & drink.
One of our larger weddings was hosted by a couple who business it was to host HUGE outdoor musical productions. Their typed directions comprised a small book and their large professional crew knew this event was 'special' to the bosses. Needless to say the event was noteably uneventful in terms of problems. If this is your first event and it seems to keep growing as the invitation list snowballs, you may want to consider one of the Wedding Planning Services that are available in this or your area.
Due to the considerable time required to restore the guest houses to pre-event condition, all but the extremely small affairs require an additional day rental. We also have a limit on the amount of weddings we can accomodate each year, so please contact us well in advance to check on availability.
